(New York, NY – May 2014) From May 17-20, M2L and Artifort will return to the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) in New York with a joint exhibit, showcasing a new array of fresh and modern furniture designs. M2L, a leading distributor of contemporary arrangements from around the globe, and Artifort, one of Europe’s most innovative furniture manufacturers, will feature several new releases in Booth 2204. Products on display from the Dutch manufacturer, which are available in the U.S. through M2L, include a brand new seating line by designer Khodi Feiz, junior versions and reintroductions of iconic Pierre Paulin chairs, a minimalist sofa and coordinating coffee table and an elegant coffee table by famed French designer Patrick Norguet. A credenza from M2L’s own line of exquisitely crafted furniture, M2L Brand, completes the vignette.
M2L Brand, the company's in-house line of premium architectural cabinetry and seating for executive and residential applications that launched in the fall of 2012, is set to make its second appearance at the ICFF with the BRAND Credenza. Fusing functionality with a sleek aesthetic appeal, Manfred Petri designed the credenza with premium grade North American hardwood veneer and satin back-painted glass. The credenza is flexible and customizable, offering solutions for a wide range of executive and residential needs. It compliments other finely crafted elements in the line including desks, buffets and media consoles.
Making its U.S. debut at the fair, the new Junior Collection by Artifort features kid-friendly versions of the brand’s classic design icons. The Mushroom Junior and Orange Slice Junior feature the same playful shapes, bright colors and soft upholstery of Pierre Paulin's signature chairs, only scaled down to fit the tinniest design aficionado. Mushroom Junior is built with a foam-covered steel frame, which allows for effortless matching to any of Artifort’s classic products. Meanwhile, Orange Slice Junior, perfect for a nursery, consists of two identical, foam-covered beech shells, upholstery in COM, and a metal, powder-coated base. The Junior Collection is a generation-bridging series that offers the youngest members of a design-savvy family a place to call their own.
Gap: Designed by Iran-born industrial designer Khodi Feiz, this seating line strives to offer a more comfortable sitting experience by providing more room for the lower back with a signature smile-shaped gap at the back of the chair. With a fully upholstered, curved shell and four or five-leg base, the chair is guaranteed to catch the eye of everyone in the office.
Nest: Artifort is bringing back Pierre Paulin’s beloved designs for F564 and C565 in the form of Nest. Originally designed in 1962, Nest is charming, soft and friendly with beautiful flowing lines and great sitting comfort. The armchair is ideal for curling up with a book or tablet while the compact two-seater sofa is perfect for lounging. The Nest is directly related to the Mushroom with a steel frame covered with cut foam, Dacron, and upholstery made of stretchy fabric with a minimum number of straight-stitched seams.
Boson Coffee Table: Designed by Patrick Norguet, this elegant coffee table offers a light and versatile solution to the executive workplace while remaining firmly anchored with its polished aluminum base. Paired with the Boson fauteuil, the modern, circular table has been reduced in thickness as much as possible in order to achieve a functional balance between mass and delicacy.
T 905 Comfort: A sleek, slim and contemporary sofa featuring a chrome base and leather or fabric upholstery. This elegant layout defines its ultra classic composition while simultaneously maintaining an element of class. The sofa is a perfect addition to the upscale interior of an executive room or lounge.
T 905 Coffee Table: The almost inseparable pairing to Artifort's 905 comfort sofas. Ultra-minimalist in design, the table has a chrome base, matching that of the sofas. The tabletop, in natural-stained oak wood, can provide a stark material contrast, or blend more seamlessly into a modern setting with black or black lacquer.

(New York, NY – April 2014) Over the past 20 years, M2L has built a reputation in the architecture and design community for bringing fresh and innovative products to North America. With a curatorial eye, Michael Manes and his son and partner, Matt Manes, are constantly scouring the globe, identifying brands that will delight and appeal to their discerning client base of commercial and residential designers. Their latest find is the internationally respected Scandinavian company, Inno, whose furniture and accessories represent the best of Finnish modern design, suitable to meet even the most demanding public interiors.
According to M2L Founder and President, Michael Manes, “Our decision to work with Inno was simple. With a mixture of proven classics and fresh designs, the Inno collection dovetails with our mission of providing fresh yet timeless modern design solutions to the design professional, and the clients they serve. For close to 40 years, Inno furnishings have been selected for many strong brand concepts all over the world. We’re excited to bring Inno’s collection of internationally recognized products to the North American market.”
Inno was founded in 1975 by Harri Korhonen, an interior architect with a deep personal interest in product design and a clear vision of different yet functional environments. The company works with renowned designers but also acts as a springboard for new Finnish talent. This has been an overarching mission and the reason for its tremendous success in the international market.
A few product highlights from the Inno collection, now available in the North American market through M2L, include:
Aura – Aura is a family of seating characterized by an enveloping back and organic, flowing lines. Designed by Mikko Laakkonen, the sofa was awarded a Red Dot: Best of the Best Award in 2013 for its innovative proportions, sensitive design and room-dividing role. The sofa is complemented by a series of armchairs—available in two different back heights—for creating harmonious and cozy groups of private seating.
Basso – Designed by Harri Korhonen, Basso is a versatile family of meeting chairs with a lot of personality. Available in four sizes (S, M, L and XL) with an embedded lumbar support, Basso is a streamlined chair with remarkable sitting comfort. It comes in a range of bases and bright upholstery options, adding a playful ambiance to indoor spaces—especially meeting rooms. Basso is also available as a stackable side chair.
Kola – Kola, designed by Mikko Laakkonen, is all about lightness: a concept expressed both visually and physically. The seat, made of 100% recyclable polyester felt, is part of the chair’s supporting construction; it also has great absorption and acoustic characteristics, is fire resistant, and easy to clean. The optional cushion gives additional comfort and adds a bright splash of color. The award-winning family of seating includes an easy chair, a rocking chair, a meeting or dining chair with different leg options and a stacking small chair with or without armrests, or with a cross-leg for meeting applications.
Lab – Replete with Scandinavian sensibility and warmth, the Lab chair and table series offers stylistic versatility to home and office settings. Designed by Harri Korhonen, the Lab chair is a casual meeting or dining chair with a cozy sensibility and stacking capability. The matching table is a pure and light modular table available in three sizes for meeting or dining. Lab is also available in a new cross-legged office chair version with a plain quilted seat, with or without armrests, and a height adjustment mechanism.

Showcasing New Furniture Lines from M2L BRAND and Artifort
(New York, NY — May 2013) This weekend, M2L – a leading purveyor of fresh, modern designs from around the globe – will return to the ICFF (May 18-22) in a joint exhibit with one of Europe’s most innovative furniture manufacturers, Artifort. In Booth 2204, M2L will showcase a number of new releases from the Dutch manufacturer including two seating lines designed by Richard Hutten, which are available in the U.S. through M2L. The exhibit will also feature a credenza from M2L’s own line of exquisitely crafted cabinetry, M2L BRAND.
After launching last fall, M2L BRAND – a line of architectural cabinetry for executive and residential applications – will make its public debut at ICFF 2013 with the BRAND office Credenza. Designed by one of America’s foremost product designers, Manfred Petri, the collection includes elegant and finely crafted desks, credenzas, buffets and media consoles. The credenza is made of premium grade North American hardwood veneer and topped with satin black back painted glass, adding enormous functionality to a space while keeping it sleek and chic. Being modular and customizable in design, the credenza offers solutions for a wide range of needs.
Artifort’s literally iconic Apps line of seating will also make its U.S. debut. Richard Hutten’s first design for Artifort will be shown in both one-person (Apps 1.0) and two-person (Apps 2.0) versions, which take their form from the ubiquitous square icons of the virtual world. Smooth, timeless and comfortable, this tech-savvy series can be upholstered in any of Artifort’s colorful, high-quality fabrics. To complement the launch, Richard Hutten will participate in ICFF Talks on Sunday, May 19 from 3-4pm, sharing his opinion on the current state of design and speaking about his products with Dwell editor-in-chief, Amanda Dameron.
A number of other innovative and contemporary furniture offerings from Artifort will be on display in the booth:
Reflex Embrace is part of Toine van den Heuvel’s Reflex sofa system. It features a high back, available in four heights, that creates privacy while the upholstery muffles and softens noise. It is also available with a tablet table, making this sofa the perfect place to concentrate or collaborate. To top it all off, the sofa is 100% recyclable.
T 905 Coffee Table is the almost inseparable pairing to Artifort's 905 comfort sofas. Ultra-minimalist in design, the table has a chrome base, matching that of the sofas. The tabletop, in natural-stained oak wood, can provide a stark material contrast, or blend more seamlessly into a modern setting with black or white lacquer.
Boson Low Coffee Table designed by the prolific French designer Patrick Norguet is inspired by the original 1960s theories surrounding the Higgs Boson. The design strikes a balance between substance and weightlessness, resulting in a simple yet compelling form that retains full functionality.

(New York, NY – December 2012) In addition to celebrating 20 years of business – and establishing itself as a leading distributor of licensed and authorized furnishings from Europe – this year M2L is proud to unveil its own line of fine cabinetry. Based on world-class standards, M2L BRAND was developed for designers that require an architectural wood solution for executive applications. Designed by one of America’s foremost product designers, Manfred Petri, the collection features a range of desks, credenzas and media consoles, combining handwork and superior technical hardware with infinite material options.
According to Michael Manes, President and Founder of M2L, “Over the last 20 years, we’ve built a reputation for providing fresh, iconic and timeless modern design solutions to design professionals and the clients they serve. M2L BRAND adds to our portfolio of design-driven brands but also fills a definite gap in the market for elegant, finely crafted architectural cabinetry.”
The heart of the product is the care to veneer selection and a specially developed urethane finishing system that gives the cabinetry a beautiful natural patina. M2L BRAND uses only the highest-grade American hardwood veneers, offered in standard finishes such as Natural Walnut, Chestnut Walnut, Ebonized Oak and Anigre as well as custom veneers and stains. A variety of top material options including aluminum, leather, stone, and glass (in white or black) also add to the collection’s flexibility.
With no visible hardware – thanks to a concealed, soft touch slide opening system – recessed bases and raised cabinet tops, the collection represents a new line of cabinetry with a balanced and purist architectural form. According to Petri, “BRAND builds on all that I know about cabinetry design, from my years as Design Director of Iil/Geiger International. It was wonderful to work with M2L, who pushes the design process to new heights.”
