Fresh, Sustainable, Genuine Design from Italy

New York, NY (November 2010) For the past 20 years, M2Lhas introduced the best in genuine modern European design to the American market. Joining M2L’s cadre of iconic design heavyweights including Artifort, Montis and Walter Knoll, the company is proud to announce that it now also distributes the Italian manufacturer Arper. From seating to tables, the company is well regarded for its strong contemporary aesthetic while taking considerable strides towards reducing its environmental footprint.

In 2006, the Italian manufacturer obtained the ISO 14001 certification for environmental management. Then in 2008, the company re-evaluated its entire chair production process, resulting in GREENGUARD certification for all of its seating products. Due to recycling content and low-emitting materials, all of Arper’s seating products also contribute to the LEED credit system for buildings.

  • M2L Spring 2012 Introductions

New Seating Lines for a Wired World

(New York, NY – April 2012) Bringing fresh, modern design to the U.S. from around the globe, M2L ( HYPERLINK "http://www.M2L.com"continues to inspire after more than two decades. After attending IMM Cologne in January, M2L is pleased to announce new introductions from its European partners including Artifort, Lapalma, Montis, and Walter Knoll. From a 1950s-inspired luxury armchair to a hi-tech stool inspired by minimalist Scandinavian design, the pieces reveal each company’s unique character while demonstrating M2L’s overarching versatility as a resource to the trade.

Artifort “Reflex Embrace” is a new addition to Toine van den Heuvel’s Reflex sofa system. A high back, available in four heights, creates a private area while the upholstery muffles and softens noise. It is also available with a tablet table, making this sofa the perfect place to concentrate or collaborate.

Lapalma “Miunn” is a stool that draws inspiration from the natural form of the human body. Utilizing 3D wood forming technology, designer Karri Monni creates an organic structure in a way that was previously only achievable using plastic or fiberglass. The contrast of a powerful stainless steel base and a smooth curved seat make the stool suitable for any environment.

Montis “Dickens” is a modern wood-frame armchair inspired by the classic 1950’s smoke chair. Designed by Dick Spierenburg, Dickens draws from the comfort of its muse, providing thick cushions and the luxury of ample armrest space to hold a book, glass, telephone, or tablet. Moving the seat cushion forward enables a change in the angle and tilt, adding another level of comfort.

Walter Knoll “Bao” is a sumptuous and spacious seat designed by EOOS that embodies all of the qualities of a soft leather ball. The swiveling armchair combines both leather and fabric in one sweeping gesture, generating the familiar feeling of a welcoming embrace. With an artistic back and curved form, the “Bao” is a truly unique and elegant compliment to any interior space.

Walter Knoll “Deen”, also designed by EOOS, is a chair that is as beautiful as it is comfortable, accurately expressed through its minimal volume and precise shape. Modern hydroforming gives the legs their delicate elegance. The seat boasts dedication to comfort with its flexible back, and meticulous attention to detail with its virtually invisible upholstery. Available with or without arms.
